About me: |
I'm 63 and began using Peertrainer Feb 15 2009. I lost 50 pounds in a year but it came to a halt when my husband came home from rehab Jan. 30 2010 for a lengthy illness and I began cooking for him. I'm now back at it because he is recovering finally!. I finally signed up for the point of no return program and will begin it this afternoon.

Diets I like: |
I am hoping to permenently change the way I eat. I'll have to do a little each day. I got by for months losing weight on Weight Watchers 10 vegetable soup. I ordered groceries and more ingredients will arrive in awhile.

Workout of choice: |
I work out with a personal trainer. I see him for physical therapy once a week and do alternating treadmill recumbent bike exercises four times a week. Basically I do what he tells me to do. I suffered a traumatic injury 17 years ago and my left knee is permanently damaged. Consequently, I can't walk very well and I have swelling and lot of pain. The trainer has really helped with pain, walking, and swelling and now I can walk much more easily and move more quickly.

My plan: |
Use some weight watchers ideas like mixing eggs with egg whites, putting green veggies in omelette, mixing blueberries with oatmeal, eating beans, lots of fruit and greens. Maybe eating more of Fuhrman's highly rated foods.

I need the most help with: |
Exercising and dealing with my husband and his weight-ON eating habits is still a challenge even though he lost 100 pounds in 6 months while ill. He is now thin and wants to eat ice cream, candy, cheese, and meat although he likes everything. I am working on how to achieve this.

I just want to enjoy my life without all of this fat hanging around my middle. I need to lose so much and some kind of help is necessary. I wrote this a year ago and it is still true despite a 50 pound weight loss.
