I am 24 years old. I live in Phoenix, AZ. I am a grad student obtaining my doctorate in clinical psychology. My weight loss is the last thing that I see holding me back, and my last challenge to overcome.











Im 51 years young,5' 10" 277lbs.I don't mind exercising,its just getting to it,is a anouther story.I have a few aches and pains,but not enough to keep me from trying.





I realized I had reached maximum density, 350 lbs. in Jan. 1998. In Mar. 1998 underwent Lap Band surgery which I converted to the RNY in July of 2001. By Mar. 2002 I was 170 lbs and feeling great. I married my husband in 2000 and in 2003 I had our 1st child and a 60 lb weight gain. In 2005 I had our second child with only a 10 lb weight gain. My children are worth every pound, but in Feb 2008 I realized I was earnning interest on those pounds, weighing 272 lbs. I was experiencing extreme exhaustion. I went to my Dr. I was told I was overweight, depressed, diabetic who need to lose weight. I was given pills, blood glucose meter and approval to join Jenny Craig. I returned 6 weeks later only lost 10lbs, still exhausted beyond reason. Was told I am anemic, given addition antidepressants, and told to take an iron supplement. 4 weeks later no change except for severly constipated from the iron. My doctor had no answer, felt I wasn't taking the iron or watching what I was eating. I joined a fitness club and started working with a personal trainer(PT) in May 2008 and changed doctors. I saw an Endocrinologist. A long story short, I am not yet a diabetic, I am insulin resistant, growth hormon was very low and thyroid funtion questionable with a nodual on my thyroid. I have continued working with my PT and was started on Byetta for the insulin resistance in July '08. within a few weeks the fatigue had nearly resolved. I could think more clearly and my memory was improved. I was started on Synthroid for the thyroid function in Oct '08 and IV Iron for the iron deficient anemia. What a difference a good doctor can make, no antidepressants needed. Despite all this and tracking calories and working out 4-6 days a week my weight loss has been slow. I am not sure how many calories to eat. My trainer feels I need to eat more, I am trying 1800 calories of healthy clean food is alot for my gastric bypass. I am currently working with 1500, 3 weeks no weight loss. I was going to try WW again not sure how many calories 28 points is but thought I'd give it a try. I am happy to say I have lost 57 lbs in the last year, currently at 215 and holding.


I am 23 and have been struggling with my weight ever since the 8th grade. My parents constantly put pressure on me to be thin because I was the biggest girl on my dance team in high school. I think the negativity got to my self esteem and I was never able to pick myself back up. I am creating a new mindset and learning to love my body. I am trying to find others, male or female who have the same outlook. It doesn't matter if you are already there or trying to get there.





I am 24, graduated from ASU in Italian, and have been living in Italy since May 08. Ever since i got here my weight has been increasing. I am a chef (which makes controlling food intake that much harder) and right now Im working in a restaurant in Northern Italy.














I am a 53 year old mother of 3 grown children and a 2 year old grandaughter. I also have 11 other grandchildren on my husband's side. I am a school nurse and have been for about 11 years now. I worked in pediatric rehab before that. I need to lose weight as well so that I can be the example to others on my campus to lose and keep their weight off as well as showing my students it is important to be healthy.

I should have listened to Dr. Fuhrman in the mid 1990's. I was vegetarian, but not Nutrient conscious. In other words, I didn't eat meat, but ate lots of vegetarian junk food. Now 15 or so years later, now that the macaroni, ice cream and other non meat junk foods have caught up to me, in health terms, I am ready to admit, he has been right and I greatly sabotaged my health all these years. I'm 25 years old and in August 2008 I went from a physically demanding job to a job where I sit at my desk all day. While I love my job -- I gained about 20lbs since starting my career.











I am a 48 year old stay at home mom. I am 5'3" and weigh 116. I recently started natural hormone replacement including thyroid medication and finally am seeing my weight creep down. I lost 18 bs 2 years ago and have kept 12 off. Losing weight is very difficult even with working out. I also recently found out that I am melathonian sensitive which basically means I cannot eat any animal protien or dairy.





...Okay, I have tried this once before and failed.... and I have decided to come back one more time and give it another go.. only this time - I told the world.. (or as many as I could... Thank you social networking! lol) I figured out the only way to keep myself on this and honest, was to tell people I was doing it. I've set out to lose 40lbs+ in 12 weeks by changing my eating habits and doing large amounts of different, high intensity cardio 6 days a week. This challenge I set for myself runs from: 6.21.11 to 9.13.11 (12 weeks) and the goal is to be 150 or less! :)
