Link to my Livestrong daily food log: http://www.livestrong.com/thedailyplate/diary/who/ironlovehandles/ I have never been athletic, but I've never been as unhealthy as I am right now. A couple of years ago I went back to school to become an accountant, then started an extremely stressful job AND dove into some major household renovations. My health took a nose-dive at that point because I didn't give myself enough time to take care of myself. I am a natural researcher, and have read up on almost every health trend, fad and "fact" that has been presented on the internet, but now I would like to make it happen.

I am about to turn 58 and my weight gain came about after menopause and a very stressful couple of years. I am married and have three sons.

I've spent the majority of my life strength training and my cardio came second. Now as I get older, for some unknown reason, the running bug has bitten me and I want to focus on becoming a better runner. I ran my first 5k in 2011, tore my medial meniscus and underwent arthroscopic surgery in July'11. I return to running in the spring of 2012 and with the help of PT, good running shoes and education, have been able to run approx 5-6, 5k's and suffered through a few 10k's. I'm only running 11min miles but working on building from there. I'm looking for advise, stories and inspiration from other novice runners. Good Luck

Turning 59 in July - Ready to take off the extra weight I have been carrying around with me for ever..... Need to make working out a habit. Want to eat a more healthy diet.

I am a shy girl with low self confidence due to my looks. I've tried a lot of diet and plans but i always end up giving in to food. Hopefully, PEER TRAINER will help me stop that habit once and for all.

Former HR Professional, now coach women to become the best version of themselves by standing in their greatness, speaking their truth and transforming the daily process of living into a joyful experience

Within the past year and a half I've lost 30 lbs by eating healthy and exercising. I'm the most fit that I've ever been and feel super confident with my newfound fitness abilities!!

Married, 3 children - 10, 28, 30. Unemployed and looking for work.

I tend to be an emotional eater , and gained about 40 pounds these last 4 years . My goal is to remain motivated So that I can maintain a healthy weight .

I'm a happily married mom of a beautiful 16 1/2 month old boy.

I am 51, mother of two grown sons, a beautiful bonus daughter and grandson! I am a technical college instructor for a medical laboratory medicine program, my second (or third or fourth) career and I love it! I am married to a retired travel manager who loves to indulge on planning trips for us! Teaching fits into most of his travel plans.

I'm a stay-at-home mom who also works from home. This is challenging for several reasons, the primary ones being that I don't have much time and I'm constantly surrounded by food. That being said, I no longer wish to use my situation as an excuse, as that will do nothing to help me achieve my goals of success. Instead, I want to remain positive and motivated!

Always been thin at 5'7" stayed for years at 125 lbs with muscle as I actively lifted weights. Now at 53, struggling with weight gain and menopause..ugh!!!

I have been heavy my entire life, but now have a 6 year old that has loads of energy and a husband who loves to be active...so I want to keep up with them. We're also on a tight budget and I've noticed that all of the great clothing sales offer more choices for smaller sizes...it would be nice to fit into them!

I am a woman of 52, I have 5 incredible kids and 6 grandkids... Photography is my newest passion ...

I am a mother of two sassy, funny little divas. I love history, art, traveling and fitness. I have completed 5 10k races and am always looking for a new challenge. At only 5'1" I am considered obese, although I don't feel that way. Through diet and exercise I lost 70 pounds, and kept it off for 3 years but after a very difficult, emotionally challenging year I gained back 30 pounds. In many ways I feel like I am starting from scratch but I am ready and excited to finally reach my goal!

Single mom with two great kids, ages 9 and 7. I'm 46 years old and have always been overweight. I really want my life to *finally* change for the better. So, my goal this summer is to get started on that both on the inside and on the outside. Tomorrow I'm going to start - get walking again and trying hard to eat better. I"m very undisciplined, but with God's help, I am hopeful I can do something good for myself health-wise.

I am an HR

I am a mom of a super fun 6 year old boy. I am currently living with my in-laws which is a great help in every other aspect except healthy eating and exercise.

I work full time, 7 days 7 days off, and have a 2 1/2 year old daughter. I am married. We moved to Omaha a year ago. I am 30 years old and ready to take control of my life. I lost about 60 lbs 5 years ago and then I gained 50 lbs when pregnant with my daughter. I am looking for an accountability partner and would like to meet someone to walk with and go to the gym with.

I had always struggled with weight all through highschool then slimmed down to a size 6. Then I had my first of four kids. Haven't been able to lose the weight since.

I am a pretty active, very curvy 39 year old burlesque dancer. I have been dancing on and off for the last 20+ years. And of course life changes your priorities and you lose focus. I am ready to claim my body back and so my journey begins... (9/6/14 update) Funny how time flies! Its been 2 years since I 've logged into this site. And the sad thing is that my weight has only fluctuated up and down in the 140-149 range during this time. I recently had my birthday a couple of weeks ago and turning 39 really put everything into perspective! Its time to f**king get it together!

I weigh 244, I am 5'3 and as a woman with PCOS the weight seems to come on quick.

I will be 50 years of age in December. I am 6', 2" and 208 lbs. I teach History at the high school level and I have just received my certification as a fitness trainer. I am married with three daughters who keep my very busy!

I am 133 pounds and 5' 3"

I'm 60, divorced, 3 grown children, 2 grandchildren and work a full time job.

I like to spend time with family. I loves shopping

Im 23 I weigh 81kgs, I have always been bigger than everyone else. I don't remember a time where I was comfortable in my skin. I feel like I need to shed the weight so I can stop saying 'when I lose weight I'll do this'. It really holds me back.

28 year old female, I've gained about 13 pounds since my wedding and want it back off!

I am 45 & have been on the diet roller coaster my entire life. The only times I've been able to lose a significant amount of weight was using really unhealthy methods. I have really been searching, trying to figure out why I eat, why I struggle to lose, and why I can't maintain my success. That lead me to watch a couple of life changing movies, 'Fat, Sick & Nearly Dead' and 'Hungry for Change'. The message contained in those films has caused me to turn a corner in my thinking. I juice regularly & try to eat predominantly whole, unprocessed foods. But I am addicted to the processed food I grew up on, my husband & stepson are the world's most avid carnivores, and quite frankly I love the taste of meat myself. I am continually struggling against my own inner food demons as well as the temptation presented by having tasty goodies at my fingertips. I have been able to move my family towards healthier, organic treats but they will never be vegetarians let alone vegans. My husband is very supportive of whatever it is I need to do to be healthy but won't consider making any uncomfortable changes to his own diet. I want to learn why I sabotage myself even while I'm doing well & feeling good and I want to get off the diet roller coaster once and for all. I don't have a specific weight in mind, I just want to be healthy & finally comfortable in my own skin.

Affordable Personal Trainer at Home Training Group In home fitness trainer

My closet is filled with clothes which span several dress sizes. I have made several attempts over the past five-plus years to keep to a healthy routine, but have failed over and over again. My downfall is binge-eating which "feeds" into my tendency toward depression, which then leads to my not wanting/being able to leave the house.

I work in sales, commute for 3-4 hours daily, train horses and am a busy person that makes gym time 3-5 days days a week. My stress level contributes to binge eating to make me happy when I feel stressed

I wake up 5am 5 days/week to run at least 10K. My comfortable pase is 6'10"/km, if I'm feeling light and good, I can run 5'50"/km. I try to do LSD on weekend and the longest run I did was 20KM.

I am nearly 39 years old and have 3 beautiful children all under 5. I work part time (my sanity time!) and my husband travels a bit so life is pretty busy. My youngest is now 2 and I finally have the energy to focus on myself a little more now.

I'm a student in college, I work a part-time job. I have this summer off, so I'm concentrating on losing this weight and getting back in shape.

I am married and recently relocated to the Philly area from Maine for work. I have been a vegetarian for over 12 years and recently went vegan but struggle with eating too many carbs. Like many others, I have battled my weight my entire life and have lost and gained weight too many times to count - it truly is a vicious cycle. Right now I am approaching middle age and I would really like to lose and finally keep the weight off for good and hopefully develop healthy lifestyle behaviors that will ward off chronic diseases.

61 year old advertising executive, recent grandmother

I am 38 years old and always had weight issues. I have a great personality but I feel my weight lets me down as I feel I am not the best version of me I can be.

I love to lift, and cardio is okay. I was in fantastic shape four years ago, but slowly let myself stop exercising and stop eating well. So I'm here to get back to what I love....

I am 54 years old and I work with special needs children.

Think a lot of getting thin. Do less ;( . Have a goal of 50 pounds eventually. But its 10 at a time Baby.

I am a mom of twin girls now 5. I got divorced, dealt with the untimely death of my father, moved house and schools and started a new job. I am a comfort eater and stress easily.

I have yo-yo dieted most of my life. About ten years ago I successfully lost 30 pounds by following a low-carb diet and looked and felt great. But alas, I slowly gained it back and then some.

58 year old special education teacher.

I'm a 46 year old SAHM of 2 teens. Have always stayed in shape and been at my target weight until last 2 years when my metabolism seems to have tanked. I even snapped right back to shape after both of my two kids, so am really confused as to why 25 lbs. crept on in 2 years! Am tired of looking at my new muffin top and refuse to buy the next larger size of clothes, so this weight has to come off!

Divorced after being married for 20 years. Just started dating and feel old and fat.

I'm 35, married 10 years. Weight up and down my whole life. After 3 miscarriages I've gained more than ever and have bad depression and anxiety. I don't have a specific weight goal. I just want to be healthy.

I've completed a 1/2 marathon in 2012. I'm all about fitness and improving myself

I'm almost 37 years old, single and have 2 fur babies (cats). I live by myself so it's really easy to throw in the towel and fall off the wagon. I need to grow up a little when it comes to some personal habits like eating a healthy diet, exercising and keeping a more organized home. I started a new job almost a year ago, which I absolutely love, but it's also very stressful. I feel like I'm super organized and successful at work, but I have nothing leftover for myself when I get home.

I am a 20-year-old young woman living in Germany. Next year, i want to start studying music. I'm a single mom of two (22 and 12). I'm 5'9" 49 yrs old and I currently weigh 236lbs.
