I'm 44 and married with 2 kids, a 7 year old and a 5 year old. I have been battling weight gain all of my adult life, but have gained 50 pounds (YES, 50!!!) since getting married 12 years ago. I don't really even know how this has happened, but it is ridiculous at this point. This weight gain has gotten so out of hand and it's time for me to start taking care of myself again.


I'm 66 right now. As I mentioned above I have Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. 23 year old university student, so making healthy choices is my biggest challenge when there is so much junk food around me all day. Two years ago I lose about 40 pounds, but over the past year I have gained 10 of it back, so I am hoping to lose that ten, plus another, and also change my overall eating habits.

I am a nurse at rehab hospital. I have one daughter and a wonderful grandson. I want to be able to play with my grandson so that is my ultimate reason for losing weight. I have lost 140 pounds once before but dur to an injury to my knee I gained most of it back.


I have been overweight practically my whole life. After I had my boys I finally got motivated and lost down to 145lbs. Then I became unemployed, and went to school full time to earn my associates degree. My weight stabilized around 160lbs. Before I even finished my degree I landed my dream job. But not quite my dream hours, 12 hour rotating shifts. I became too busy or too tired to work out and fast food became the normal. All down time was spent in a bar or a bottle. This has gone on for long enough, two years too long. I was very fit as a teenager, active and could eat whatever I wanted. After I married and had my first child, I realized I had put on 100lbs! (yeah yuck!) I started dieting right away, but 4 months later I was pregnant again. I managed to keep the gain down to about 30lbs but had put on all that i'd lost. After my daughter was born, i managed to lose most of the weight, and we decided to try once more for a boy. (yay its a boy!) once again i had put on about 60lbs. from then til now. 17 years later. I am 39 and about 210lbs. I am 5'10" so can tell myself ( i carry it well) but i dont! I hate mirrors with a passion. I have tried many things over the years, some with some success, some without. I know I have bad habits that I need to break. ( a bottle of wine when i get home from work, is one of those things). So anyway, i'm here to see what this is about. I also am going to a weight watchers meeting this weekend, I'm looking forward to seeing what that is like.

I am 51 yrs. old, married to my husband Steve for 30 yrs. We are empty nesters, we have a daughter 23 who lives in Manhattan, NY & is working on her first play. She majored in Theatre Directing. Our son is 21 & is a Junior in college, he plays hockey & so we attended all of his games that we can. He goes to St. Louis University. I have had excess weight since 1985 when I experienced depression & went into a Stress Unit for six weeks. The medication I was taking, caused me to gain 60 lbs. in 6 weeks. Then on two separate occasions I was put on new antidepressants that each caused me to gain 30 lbs. in 30 days. So that is an additional 60 lbs. bringing total weight gain due to medication & poor eating habits to 120 lbs. I did not keep on all of this extra weight but at least 70 lbs. of it. My weakness is sweets & ice cream. I am an emotional eater. I cannot have sweets in the house because I will devour them within a couple of days. It has been suggested that I go on a gluten-free diet which would give me more energy & reduce my mood swings. Even though I know this would be helpful, it is still a little overwhelming to me at this time.





I'm a single teacher with 3 dogs. I love doing animal assisted therapy with them and spending time outdoors. Right now I'm on a crocheting kick, though I also love reading, quilting, and learning new things. Unfortunately, I'm an emotional eater. I know how to lose weight, I know what works for me, I just need to do it.





























I'm almost 43 years old and from Ontario, Canada. I'm a father of 2 awesome kids (11 year old daughter and 8 year old son) and husband to one incredible wife. A few years ago, I let myself get as heavy as 300lbs (I'm 6'2"). I did manage to get down to 250 but poor choices have plateaued me. I am now re-focused and determined to not only lose weight, but to change my lifestyle and become a healthier person. I deserve it and my family deserves a dad who can be active WITH them.


I've been trying to lose weight for almost 4 years- unsuccessfully. I used to exercise 1-3hours 5 times a week at a weight of 115lb. After the dance studio closed and my volleyball team disbanded, I never got back to exercising regularly. I occasionally go jogging for 30-40 minutes but I can't motivate myself to do it more often since I don't enjoy it. Unfortunately, I also started to eat less healthy or rather eat more sweets than I did when I was 115lbs. Thus, I gained 37lbs in the course of 4 years.
