I'm a 48 year old single woman in NJ. I need to get this weight thing under control. Because now it's controlling me.
I am a recently married 25-year-old who still can't believe she's 25. About 5 years ago, I dropped 20 pounds in a little more than 2 months with Weight Watchers for a theatre production I was doing in college. After the weight loss, I weighed a very healthy 123 for my height. Since that time, I stopped counting points, (and I HATE to exercise), and gained back the 25 pounds. The problem is, because I saw how easy it was to drop a lot of weight quickly (I never had more than my 18 points a day back then--I was fanatical), I keep procrastinating with my diet, because I know that "once I put my mind to it, I'll lose the weight in no time." Or "I can quit (eating) whenever I want to...I just don't want to yet." I lost about 15 pounds for the wedding over the year that we were planning, but that was because I had a concrete goal with very real consequences--I wanted to look good in those expensive photos! And, of course, I've gained it all back.... So now I've been married almost a year, and I want to look good! I want to go to my closet and put on clothes and know that I look good in them. I want to feel young and sexy--now's the time, right? I want to look professional at work, and be able to get parts in shows. I want to look good for my husband. I want to feel good about myself. The thing is...nothing does taste as good as thin feels. I know--I was there. Then, of course, I ordered take-out.
I have been on WW for a while, about a year. In the first 7 months, I lost almost 20 lbs, then I started plateauing. I was kind of discouaged, but kept trugging along. I have recently lost a few lbs, but have started eating bad again. I need to stop that and start working out and eating better.
