It's easy to be fooled into thinking that banana chips are a healthy option - or that they should be healthier than normal chips, at least. Sadly, it really isn't so. Just a half-cup (1.5oz) serving contains 14g fat, a whopping 12g of which are saturated fats!
Remember, for someone on a 2000 cal diet, 20g of saturated fats is their Recommended Daily Allowance. Do you really want to use up 60% of your RDA on half a cup of banana chips?
Pick the fresh (or frozen! or blended! or baked!) banana every time!
(And if your roommate happens to by them, steer clear!!!!)
These plantain chips look like a healthier alternative - certainly less saturated fat!
