What causes people to make snide remarks?

I'd like to know why people make digs. I know I'll never know the entire answer but I wanted to see what causes it not even just for weight loss. Any ideas? It's so hard to answer back.

people in my opinion usually make side remarks when they don't feel good about themselves and where they are in their life.

1. if they are making fun of someone else they are not focusing on their own flaws and what needs fixed in their life.
2. if they find something to make snide remarks about it makes them feel better so they think..

it really doesn't because they still have to live with ourselves. the best way to handle them is try to consider the source and realize the reason people are making remarks is because they are feeling insecure about themselves so they lash out and sometimes someone innocent gets to be the target.

its not fair, but that's how life happens sometimes. just know who you are.. don't let what someone else rattle that belief.. i am working on this myself..

look in the mirror say i am strong, amazing.. remarkable person.. no matter what someone says they cant change that.. it doesnt matter how others see you its how you see yourself and what you believe you are,,

reminds me a pic i seen.. a kitten is looking in a mirror.. the reflection it sees in the mirror is a big fierce lion..

the caption is it doesn't matter how others see you. its how you see yourself that matters

I wish I knew. I heard that it means they are upset and they are lashing out but it still doesn't feel better.

They are terribly angry. And they must go home to a really abusive and destructive environment every night. It’s so sad.

Snide

Snide remarks often stem from insecurity or a need to feel superior. Sometimes, people use sarcasm as a defense mechanism or to sprunki mask their own insecurities. It’s tough to deal with, but remember that their comments usually say more about them than you.
