Can you lose weight just by working out alone ?
I have the P90X and did it for the first 30 days and it worked , i was losing weight
but my motivation left me on the 2nd phase , a lot has to do with your diet / calorie intake and i just can not afford to keep buying the good healthy foods
i started gaining the weight right back after i stopped and now i weigh more then before i started
Being overweight is depressing for someone like me because i want to lose the weight but feel like whats the point in trying when i can not afford to buy the healthier foods
Can you lose weight and gain muscle just by working out alone or do you have to have those healthy foods also ?
This makes trying to work out very discouraging to me.

To lose weight you have to eat less than you need. You can lose weight eating junk and you can lose weight eating healthfully and every way in between if you're creating a deficit over the long term. You do your body a bigger favor by eating healthier food, though.
It doesn't have to be all or nothing with foods, though. You dont have to follow the P90X menu exactly to lose weight. And iwhile the start up of turning ypur kitchen around may seem more costly, eating healthfully does not have to be a budget breaker in the long term. Don't let all or nothing thinking be an excuse not to make any improvements at all.

No, you must change your diet. I've heard here that it's 75% diet choices, 25% your workouts.

You will need to change your diet. However, don't eat "less" than what you need. Eat exactly what you need. Chances are, you're overeating way more than your body actually needs, and that's why you're struggling. If sticking to the fancy P90X diet is difficult (as all of those DVD menu plans seem to be- strange ingredients, too much cooking), figure out what works for you. The best thing I did to lose the weight and get it under control was figure out what proper portion sizes should be- for meat, eggs, dairy, carbs (like bread, rice, pasta), even fruits and vegetables. Then, bust out the measuring cups! Meal plan if you can too, down to the last snack, so you know exactly what to buy and have no surprises coming your way. You'll also save money grocery shopping! And log it all- it's great for accountability. Good luck! :D

I wish! I have been training for a half marathon since Nov and haven't lost a pound lol. Unfortunately, diet is key. I'm assuming you're referring to very specific healthy foods because healthy foods in general don't have to be expensive. Here are some super healthy but low cost foods: beans (especially dry), seasonal produce (broccoli and apples are super cheap!!), lean ground turkey, tilapia, even chicken breasts if you get them on sale. Good luck!

Its sooo much easier to say no to 500 calories than it is to burn it off!!

Only work out can reduce weight but not quickly. It take some time to reduce weight. Exercise just build strong muscles, bones and body structure. If you made some changes in eating habits it would be great and helpful to reduce fat level. Use appropriate diet plan to burn calories. Do meaning full work out for 30 to 40 mints with regularity. Use less fat and low protein food items. Which help to maintain body fitness.
