Help with motivation in the face of sabotage?

I read somewhere that it is possible to have a mental block at a particular weight and "plateau" there because you don't "want" yourself to be below it because you feel like you don't deserve it.

Well, I'm stuck at that plateau. I know because I do fine on my diet until I hit that magic number, and I then I gain a few pounds, and slowly try to lose again.

One thing that really makes it hard for me to stay motivated when I get to that plateau is friends saying things like
"you have a great butt, don't you ever lose it!"
The think is, I'm known for all the junk I have, but that's my body shape. How can I get it into my head that my basic body shape will not change? I've always been fit, and I will always have a big butt compared to my body. How can I not let this "complement" keep derailing me?

It seems so dumb, right? I just... I don't want to be "the fat girl" in my group of friends. How do I keep up with this, even with all their comments?

Any ideas would be really appreciated.
