I'm fat because I'm afriad to date again?
So, I was listening to the week #2 PeerTrainer Boot Camp conference call (Jackie, you so rock for it!! Thank you! For those who don't know about it, PT is doing a series of conference calls for members Check the link below!)Really is way cool!) Anyways - something that was said made me totally start crying. It was weird, it wasn't like it was something I hadn't heard before, but being on the line (muted or not) knowing other PTers that I *know* were listening made it more personal, more human than just hearing it, or reading it. Joshua said that some of us carry our weight to protect ourselves. That even the negative consequences have some positive benefit for us, healthy or not. My weight came on when I was in and left an abusive, terrible marriage. And now, I have been divorced for 7 years, and I have not dated. I want to - but my weight, and probably my self esteem, have been in the way. And even though I very much want to, I think tonight is the first time I've been able to really admit that it scares the crap out of me. I usually don't talk about it, because it sounds stupid any cliche, but hearing him talk to PTers - who are truly 'real' to me - made me realize that maybe this is something that is really true, and maybe even for some of us here. So here is my dilema - what the hell do I do about it?!?
