Interested in training for the 2010 California 70.3 Iron Man Triathlon?
I have a group with three wonderful female colleagues; we are all fairly active at logging and pursuing our goals, and the main goal we have now is to compete in the March/April 2010 California 70.3 Iron Man triathlon, which is really half an Iron Man if you use the one at Kona as a base. The 70.3 miles consists of a 1.2-mi swim; 56-mi bike; and 13.1-mi (half marathon) run. We are all committed to being there. However, one of our members has become so busy at work she has been unable to log this week and we may lose her and might look for a new partner. It's a fun group - we joke around a lot and are very supportive of one another. But if we do lose this partner and do take someone new on in her place, they must be committed to doing this California 70.3 with us -- there's still 15 months to train, so not beyond anyone's realm of possibility, really (right now I cannot run more than .4-mi without stopping; and I don't even know how to swim properly yet, and don't own a bicycle right now...). My groupmates are all in California, but I'm in the DC area, so your geographical location is not important (though i did grow up in California, so if you don't have roots there you might feel left out on some inside jokes and the like). Please let me know if anyone is interested. -Karl
