great exercise, bad diet + middle of the night sleepy eating = no weight loss
arghhh... i'm so frustrated because every day i do a wonderful workout whether it be a bit of interval training, tennis, lots of walking, something at the gym, etc... but i ruiiiiiiiin it because I just can't keep my food intake down. this is a huge problem seeing as it's come to a pretty sure consensus that "80% of weight loss is diet"
as many people on here.. during the day my eating is very "good".. i eat a low healthy 100 calorie breakfast, and then something like a turkey sandwich and apple for lunch. 5 00 rolls around, I get home from work, and that afternoon hunger (as also referenced on the site) kicks in.. i do my best to avoid snacking too much here, but i fail a good 3/4ths of the time.. then i go do my work out, come back around 8 -9 .. make some kind of healthy dinner and its all good.. then i have a couple unnecessary night time snacks (nothing too bad), but the REAL problem is the middle of the night, when I'm half asleep (but not fully asleep as I am definitely aware of what I'm doing).. I find myself in the kitchen consuming on average 300 - 500 EXTRA calories.. i feel like THIS is where my weight loss is inhibited
That is, usually I go to sleep eating around 1300 calories, and wake up having eaten around sometimes up to 18! And this just plain sucks. I have absolutely no control during this stage.
I've thought of things like.. oh, just eat more during the day because your body is deprived of it's calories, etc...but I don't buy into this.. 1300 calories of a mostly balanced diet is definitely enough to sustain a dieter in a healthy way.
I guess most of all I'm frustrated because I have max 7 - 10 pounds to lose, and then I'd feel like I'd be at my ideal, and I know this can be done in about 2 months.. then I could go on with my life as a happier, freer, lean mean individual! haha..despite this knowledge I've been at it for like, eh.. 7 years. :(... it's always somethin..
oh and for inquiries about my weight.. I'm pretty average, but like i said .. could definitely stand to lose 7 - 10 pounds if I want to achieve a very lean muscle toned look
