Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred

Are these 20 minute work outs for 30 days actually effective? I feel like they can only be supplementary. Normally, I work out for almost an hour each day, and burn substantially more than 200 calories. If weight loss is all an equation and based on the difference of calories in versus calories out, I don't see how this can be as effective as any other weight loss program which includes more exercise.
