Exercising during a fast

Does anyone have any experience with exercising while fasting?
I am doing a fast to jump start my transition to veganism and I was unsure if I should continue running. My Dr. said that there is no reason that I can’t continue to exercise at my current pace but I should not add anything new or increase the intensity right now. However, my priority is avoiding cravings as much as possible and I couldn’t help but think that exercising might make it harder to stick to the fast.
(FYI-I am of average weight, average health and I am doing this with the support of my D.O.M, so I would rather this doesn’t deteriorate into a discussion re: pros and cons of fasting)
