Eating and exersise advice needed. Please help me design a plan that WORKS.

For weeks, I've been putting forth what I *thought* could be called a true effort to lose weight. I have made NO progress except some added stamina due to doing workout videos.

I have been researching calories and how many someone should have, and I have determined I am eating too many. I've been averaging 1900- 2000 a day, and I thought since I weigh 245 (5' 9", 38 years old, female) that I would lose a few lbs a week. I am now realizing I am wrong about that and need to cut back more.

Also, I am very confused on how to set up a workout schedule. I am feeling burned out already after just a few weeks, and I think it is because I am working out too often, not alternating with weight training, and not resting enough.

So, my questions are:

How many calories should I eat per day? I am thinking maybe 1600 per week, 4 meals per day (at 400 cals a piece). Would that cause a 2-3 lbs loss per week? Remember, I weigh 245, 5' 8" tall, 38 years old female.

How do I set up a workout schedule? I am thinking of doing this:

Mon: 30 min cardio
Tue: Toning/weights on arms/back
Mon: 30 min cardio
Thur: Toning/weights on legs
Fri: Hour of cardio
Sat: Circuit training where I alternate running on treadmill with mixed weight training (arms/back/legs)
Sunday: REST

What do you all think? I need that scale to start moving. I am sick of getting nowhere.
