I'm not willing to give up my social life- am I doomed?

I am just looking for a little motivation and advice on what seem silly problem, but is actually the largest hurdle in weight loss battle. I am not extremely overweight, I am 5'8' and 146. I am looking to lose 20 as an ultimate goal.

Right now, my problem is alchohol. I am not an alcholic, but I am a night life fanatic, and go out about 5 days a week. An average night out could be anywhere from 10-20 drinks. When I go out at night, its usually from about 10pm-3am, so thats 5 hours of drinking. The problem here is that I can not escape the role of party girl among my group of friends, nor do I want to. I have created an image for myself, and since I work in the media its a character I project to help market myself. I have the most outrageous stories, and love pushing things to the extreme.

Of course than when I am out I tend to drunkenly eat (a slice of pizza is the most common late night purchase). I do not work out as it is now, although I do walk everywhere. But between getting out of work at 6, rushing back home to eat dinner and get ready to go out at night, there isnt much time left in a day. Am I doomed to maintain my soft apparence and beer belly if I continue with this? I eat fairly healthy as is, but of course I could eat better. If I take to running doing my lunch break and healthy food all day, is it all in vain if I continue to go out at night and drink up a days worth of calories? Let me know your thoughts.
