Joining the military, want to be top of my Flight!

Hello,

I will be joining the USAF in coming months, and well, I want to be the top of my flight. I want to stand out and get promoted as fast as I possibly can. I'm currently 5'3 3/4" - 5'4" and weigh an even 145lbs. I don't seem to budge from that weight no matter if I am watching my diet / exercise or eat a lot of junk for a week straight (say, on road trips). Anyway, I'm not 'overweight' but I am definitely on the edge. I need to exercise and become fit enough to accomplish these 4 goals:

1. Run a mile in 8 minutes and 55 seconds.
2. 65 push ups in under 1 minute
3. 70 sit ups in under 1 minute
4. 10 pull ups in under 1 minute

I have no upper body strength, I do not have a membership to a gym, but I am very interested in body weight training. Currently, I can do 40 - 50 sit ups in 2 minutes. I've got ways to go.

I just need some encouragement, and advice on what I should be eating, or else I'll eat anything that isn't obviously awful for you. I generally cut out high sugar and high sodium foods. I love Italian food way too much to cut the carbs to an effective level, it seems.

Should I just do these 4 exercises until I can meet the time? Is there anything else anyone recommends? ANY advice would be great. :)
