Dealing with Runners Knee

I am training for a 5k. I am on a plan that increases at slow rate so I know I'm not doing too much too fast. I am not overweight… I'm 5'5 and 125lbs. I love running and I'm determined to finish this 5k but this week I have developed knee pain that seems to fit the description of runners knee. I know the cause is my shoes(my shoes are 7 years old, verry heavy and not at all made for running) I am definitely an over-pronator. I know that purchasing shoes that are right for my foot type will make a world of difference. My question is are there any other over pronators out there with recommendations for a good shoe for this foot type?
