There's nothing left to eat!

Okay, so you shouldn't eat pork because it's full of nasty parasites that aren't killed by cooking. Infact, don't eat meat at all because it causes heart disease, cancer, birth defects and osteoporosis.

Don't eat fish because of the mercury and PCBs.

Don't eat soy because it contain phytoestrogens that cause reproductive issues and cancer.

You can eat nuts! But only a handful because they have so much fat. But don't roast them because that changes the healthy fat to TRANS FAT! And don't eat peanuts at all because they're infested with cancer causing fungus.

Don't eat dairy (A whole food group!) because it messes with your hormones, causes acne, cancer, osteoporosis, arthritis, asthma/allergies... and makes you fat. Also, "humans just aren't meant to consume dairy."

Don't eat eggs because they have a lot of cholesterol and saturated fat, which causes heart disease.

Don't eat more than one piece of fruit a day because it's high in sugar and causes weight gain, insulin resistance and puts you at risk for diabetes.

Don't eat corn or carrots because they're also too high in sugar.

Don't eat coconuts because they are high in saturated fat.

Don't eat nightshades, like tomatoes, peppers and egg plant because they impact nerve-muscle function and cause inflamation and arthritis. Potatoes are especially bad because not only are they nightshades, they have too much starch and will cause insulin resistance.

Don't eat grains. They contain lectins that cause leptin resistance, which will make you insulin resistant and obese. They contain phytates that block nutrient absorption and they contain gluten which causes digestive issues. Also, "humans just aren't meant to eat grains."

Don't eat butter, because it's dairy.

Don't eat margarine because it's trans fat.

Don't eat seed oils (corn, cottonseed, soybean, safflower, sunflower, etc.) because the imbalance between omega-6 and omega-3 fatty acids raises your chances of developing inflamatory diseases.

Coconut oil contains saturated fat.

Olive oil is okay, but you have to use it sparingly because it's high calorie and low volume, which tricks your body into thinking you've consumed fewer calories than you actually have and might cause you to overeat and get fat. Also, don't cook with oil because heating it turns the healthy fat into trans fat!

Don't eat honey, maple syrup, molasses, etc... because "sugar is sugar."

As for drinks, you shouldn't drink milk (dairy), soy milk (soy) or fruit juice because of the reasons listed above.

Don't drink anything with caffeine because it causes dehydration, headaches, anxiety and insomnia. It also increases your chance of cerebrovascular disease and stroke and sucks the calcium out of your bones.

Decaffeinated beverages contain harmful residues from the chemicals used to get rid of the caffeine. So don't drink these either.

You can drink water, but don't drink it when eating because it will dilute your stomach acid and interfere with your digestion.

What's left? Beans, some veggies, one piece of fruit and a handful of nuts?

All of this info. is widely spread and is said to come from reputable sources and scientific studies. But there is just as much info. to say that every single one of these things (with the exception of maybe margarine) has health benefits. No wonder there is so much disagreement on what people should eat. There is so much confusing and conflicing information out there that people literally have to "choose" what to believe. Of course I don't believe or follow all of this, but it makes it hard to feel good about my food choices and easier to just throw up my hands and give up because nothing is healthy anyway. I don't want to be negative about this, but I just find it really frustrating. Okay, I'm done venting now.
