Embarrassed in front of Personal Trainer?

I'm about to start working with a personal trainer for the first time, The insecure part of me is worried that she will be a so skinny and perky that she will make me feel embarrassed to work out with her. Do any of you have experiences that will confirm or assuage my fears?

It depends on the trainer. If she makes you feel that way, find another trainer! You should be comfortable with the style, philosophy, etc of your trainer.

The first trainer I ever had was just as you described. This was after I had been lifting weights for 5 years. When I would ask her a question, the answer was always "That's because you're weak." Needless to say, I didn't go for a second session with her.

I've had two trainers I liked a ton and with whom I got good results. Both were men, for whatever that's worth. One was a totally buff football player who was at least 10 years younger than me. The other was 10 years older than me and overweight. But both were fantastic trainers!
