EMAIL THREAD
Open Letter To Community
Dear Community,
You've been very helpful over the last 2 years and I've enjoyed participating in this function of PeerTrainer. Unfortunately, I think it is time we parted ways. I'm saddened by the mean, unsupportive, and judgemental comments that have become so pervasive. I don't need these things in my life...trying to lose weight is stressful enough! From now on I'll get my support and answers from my groups and teams. Good Luck, and Goodbye.

I don't comment very often in the community threads, too. I do however like to read them and sometimes get some good information. I'll keep coming back, but will probably keep out of the fray of most threads.

I feel like the OP's letter is rather "high-drama", but I have to agree some negative comments have come up on these threads that were not warranted.
Is it just me, or have things gotten better? I feel they have.

Everyone should read the book called "The Four Agreements" ... one of the four agreements is never to take anything personally and another is to be impeccable with your word - not to use it in poisonous ways ...

10:43 - I think things have gotten better! A recent thread about favorite snacks got lots of ideas and nary a mention of the 'Search' function! Now THAT's progress!

I think things have gotten better.
Mostly.
I will keep coming back and commenting.
I don't feel that I take things that are said personally most of the time until there is a comment about how you should tell a person they are fat. Those types of comments hurt and I do stew on them for a while.
But for the most part I do believe you get more support here in the community than negativity.

I too think tthings have gotten better lately. I wonder if there were just one or two people who got a kick out of going around saying mean and nasty things where ever they could find a space. Don't know, just glad their gone for now.
I really appreciate all the encouragement I get from this site and new ideas tool
Hope you all have a shrinking day.

I don't take things personally but have stayed away form the Community area because of all the negative comments. I peek again evey once in a while and do think things seem to be a little better. Maybe PeerTrainer is monitoring more and removing negative comments. Or maybe members are just becoming less judgemental and more supportive. Whatever the reason, I hope it continues.
OP, sorry that you are leaving, but I understand. Maybe check in once in a while to see if the Community is improving.
