have you ever started a thread just to create a controversy?

ever just want to get into a heated debate and started a thread to get others into it, too? sometimes i wonder if that's the purpose of the thread i'm reading...

It is done all the time. Some people get a thrill out of starting something (Political, racial, mean, etc.) Has nothing to do with weight loss or working out, just some really bored and mean spirited people.

i agree with "bored", but "mean-spirited" doesn't come to mind when thinking about why people start conversations/threads. mostly. a good political or religious debate can be rewarding, intellectually, emotionally and for pure entertainment. controversial isn't always about being negative.

hey, 1036...you write that "it's done all the time", but you don't admit to doing that. how do you know?

I agree that debate that isn't mean can be entertaining and sharpen your beliefs. I must admit I have a hard time saying something useful on the Hillary thread, so mostly, I stay out of it.
