Anyone every ride a zipline??
I'm dying to try it. What was it like? Was it dangerous? How fast did it go? And what was it like to land (did you control that)?

it was not dangerous, very safe in fact. It went fast, but not fast enough to make your stomech tighten (like a roller coaster), the landing was not really controlled by you, one of the people who works there will slow you down with a pulley as you approach the end, and you end up just landing , it's very easy. Overall, very thrilling, try it!

I did this in a Costa Rican jungle a few months ago - 10 ziplines of assorted lengths, eye-to-eye with the monkeys and iguanas :) This was my experience:
You wear a harness and a safety helmet, and you are always connected to a safety line. Before you set off, they give you a little lesson on how to slow yourself down and the signals they'll give you if you need to do so. Landing was not a problem - if you don't slow down enough by the time you get to the platform, the guys catch you. I have no idea how fast I was zipping, but it felt fantastic! And since I was relatively fearless, they taught me how to do it upside down too :)
If you're afraid of heights, don't put yourself through this. There was a guy in our group whose girlfriend dragged him along and he was sweaty and shakey and looked like he was going to puke the whole time. Poor fella.
