Amount of Calories Per Day

I am 5'6.. around 160.. I have lost 7 or so pounds, want to lose at least 15 more- how many calories a day should I be eating to lose weight.. Id like to lose at least half a pound to- 2 pounds per week. Any suggestions would be great.. thank you.

If your weight loss program does not include exercise, or includes little exercise, you want to be taking in about 1500 cals/day. It takes about 2,000 to maintain your current shape, and by reducing your intake by 500 cals/day, that will bring your weekly reduction to 3500/week -- in other words, one pound a week.

i read the Biggest Loser book and it suggests you eat whatever you body weight times 8 is. So for the OP it would be 1280. I'm not really sure if that s the correct way to go about it, but thats how i've been doing it and i have lost 35 lbs.
