does the elliptical make your thighs bigger?

I have started the elliptical and its a great exercise- but are there any consequences where it isolates certain muscles?

At first, your thighs could *potentially* look bigger because you're building up muscle underneath all the fat, but as you burn more fat and build more lean muscle, your thighs will even out.

But that's irrelevant, because what you're doing for your heart, and really your whole body, by engaging in any cardio far outweighs any "big thigh" issue.

Cardio rarely builds muscle, especially not in women. That's what weight/resistance training is for.

Nice comment above. Name calling is very mature.

The higher the resistance you use, the more likely you are to build muscle, which can add bulk. The less resistance, the less muscle building.

Remember, though, that muscle actually burns calories when you are resting. So, adding a few pounds of muscle to your frame will actually cause your body to burn more calories all day long, and then you will lose more fat (given that you do not increase your food intake.)

I'm 7:41...I believe that saying something incorrect (not that I think I am, necessarily) makes me a moron or an idiot, not an asshole. If you're going to be nasty without provocation, at least get your insults right.
