Question for taller women.
Question. I'm 5'8, 154, and have pretty wide hips (10 inch difference between waist and hips). I love being curvy and everything, it makes me feel sexy, but has anyone else around my height/weight found they have problems with lower rise jeans? I'm usually around a size 11 (or 10 womens), and although women's jeans seem to accomodate for hips a little better than juniors, whenever I get my jeans, either they fit the leg, but seem to "cut" right at where my hips are (and thus cause the "bulge"), or I get a size bigger jeans and it looks sloppy 'cause they're too baggy.
Any ideas? (I've even tried the JLo jeans, which are supposed to be for curvier women... THEY LIE!)

i know that the gap carries jeans in different lengths for different heights. ankle, average and tall.

OP here
I just realized that the question in the above post wasn't as clear, sorry XD I meant, are there any lower rise jeans that don't "cut off" that way at the hips (since we're taller, they seem to hit lower, etc..)

I'm 5'9", and low-rise jeans don't work very well for me. If I bend over, I get the "plumber butt" thing going on. Not too attractive, in my opinion.

there is a jeans company in NYC that customizes fit and all amterials for each customer. i forget the name of the place but it was featured on "what not to wear" a while ago.

tall women
well, I'm 5'11 and I have a very hard time with jeans. If I find them long enough they are always too big in the waist. I have full thighs and small waist so its hard. I have found that Levi's fit the best. They have many different styles. I get the low rise boot cut. They actually are sized down a size or 2 from what I normally buy.( I wear a 9-11 in juniors) In Levi's I wear usually a 9 or 8

fyi-low rise jeans give even short girls plumber crack!! i think it's the nature of the beast!! I would look for "mid-rise" jeans-that way you don't have to have them up to your neck but they also aren't insanely low too! Banana Republic usually has some.

when you find a pair that almost fit you the way you like and may be a little to big in the waist or crotch area, take them to a tailor and have them altered to fit you. it'll cost you an extra 20 bucks, but there's nothing like a pair of jeans that fit you just perfectly - it'll be worth the investment. the same for slacks and skirts. it's always better to buy a little bigger and take in down or in if you have to.
