This is interesting....

I found this article rather interesting and could see the benefits to those people who feel hungry a lot.

I agree with the expert who said we're not going to find answers in pills, BUT for the morbidly obese who are ruled by those hunger pangs, it could be a good way for them to cope until their stomach resembles a normal size.

For those who are simply overweight, I think it's more important to learn how to deal with food and hunger.

OP here, I only meant that it was interesting in the fact that this might be a much better safer option for those who decide to get gastric bypass because of their size.

For morbidly obese people, it definitely looks like a better option than gastric bypass...however it would have to part of a whole range of treatment...not a simple pill solution.

Saity (sense of fullness) is not mechanical, it is also biochemical. It is cellularly and hormonally driven...it's not simply a "stomach sensation." That has been one of the hard lessons of gastric bypass. People learn to satisfy their saity needs using other strategies that work around the bypass (like eating a little all day). Someone might say they are weak and self destructive doing this but I believe it is physiologically driven.

Building a healthy body starts with building a healthy life. It's not a simple process. But this invention may help someone get through a phase of change if it is coupled with a whole range of treatment and follow through...and unfortuantely many people are looking for a simple pill or miracle diet approach.

Sounds interesting to me. But I don't think I'll run out and buy a can of the stuff you put in potting soil and add it to my lunch! Lets have a little research. I am also curious as to what this stuff breaks down into. I know that learning to eat well is the answer, but any extra help when I"ve got 80 lbs to loose is appreciated. It seems to me that some people are such dietary snobs.
