Hula Hoop

Hi all! Hope everyone is having a great day. Question: does anyone else ever hula hoop? I just purchased a 2-pound hoop online, got it yesterday and within a couple of minutes had to stop. Not because I couldn't keep it up (yay, I could!), but because it hurt the way it hurts when you bump into something hard. I really hope this is temporary, because it is fun and effective, but OUCH! Any input would be appreciated. : )

What do you mean, "when you bump into something hard"? A part of your body? A piece of furniture?

If you're hula hooping, you should be sure to have enough room that you are not bumping into things - that sounds a bit risky!!

Your topic intrigued me so I did a little searching on the net and found this forum. There isn't much there but you may find it useful.

I LOVE hula hooping! Maybe you should use a lighter one? I think it's a great ab workout, and you can get your heart rate up a bit (130s) if you do it really hard/fast.

OP here: I was able to do more last night, leading me to believe that I just needed to get over this somewhat new sensation of banging into my skin. I can tell it'll be great cardio. Thanks for the input!
