Tae Bo

Billy Blanks Tae Bo workouts are about 30 minutes each. Supposedly they burn around 200-400 calories per half hour.

maybe after running for five minutes you could speed walk for 15minutes, a workout video is also good, I would advise against doing situps every morning. Your stomach needs to rest just like any other muscle...what about push-ups? When I wanted to get a quick workout in I would do push-ups, crucnches, plyometric exercises for the legs and I would do this for about 4 sets which I believe would take up 30 minutes....I would do push-ups the normal way, then with my arms wide, then with my hands together, and then put my feet on the couch and do decline push-ups....for the plyometric I would jump up and land in a squat and do that 10 times per set (trust me you'll feel it) and after all that I felt really worked and it didn't take long at all

A good way to work up your running time is to do intervals, which are also a great way to burn calories.

Instead of running for 5 minutes, try:

Walking for 5 minutes (warm-up)
running for 1 minute
walking for 1 minute
(repeat 10 times = 20 minutes)
cool-down = walk for 5 minutes

Then slowly work up so that you run for 1.5 minutes, walk for 1 minute, etc. Then, run for 2 minutes, walk for 1... Etc. Until you work up to running bigger chunks. You may need to spend about a week at each "level" until you work your way up. You may need to start at walk 2 minutes, run 1, walk 2, run 1, and build from there.

30 minutes of strength training! You can hit all the major muscle groups and you'll build muscle, which burns more calories (all day long!)

I really like The Abs Diet book - there are several, but this one is loaded with pictures of different moves you can do with or without weights. And it gives you a workout routine depending upon how many days a week you have to exercise. Love it!

I posted this once awhile ago, but my trainer sometimes has me do a "mini-triathalon" bc I get bored easily. 10 min elliptical or running, 10 min rowing machine, then 10 min biking. Or, do 5 min each but do the cycle twice. He says the key is to do each as hard as you can...

30 min workout

3 min cardio
2 min strength training
1 min abs
5 cycles give you 30 min.
