I want to try it but the closest one to me is about a 30 minutre ride.I had a thread about this 2 or 3 weeks ago. Most wern't too positive, one or 2 were they do have a website and it only costs about $30 for a year and you can attend your first meeting for free. Could you p[ost if you check it out first> I hope to try it in a week or 2

TOPS stands for Take Off Pounds Sensibly. They only offer support. You do your own diet. They have contest, weigh-ins and you receive a monthly book with weight loss ideas. You pay chapter dues weekly or monthly on top of your yearly membership. You are also penalized for weight gains, some chapter charge a quater for per pound weight gain and others may charge a dime. Every chapter has their own guidelines.

I Like it- its supportive and people get to know you, not just a face in a room

i've done TOPS and when I did do it I liked it. It helped that my mother, sister and Aunt all did it as well; but there is a lot of support in the group. It almost makes losing weight fun if you can get into a "fun" group. My mother has been in TOPS for years and she has had great success. She looks forward to it every Tuesday morning and it's almost like her social outing for the week.
