Can you watch this without crying?

A touch of the sublime in a well-known everyday setting (British version). Need to be lifted up?

Awesome.

last year I accidentally stumbled into our local opera doing a fundraiser at a winery. It really is quite startling to see these people in their street clothes -- they could be anyone you see at the grocery store or the laundromat -- with those voices coming out of their mouths.

We all have some version of this in us. It may show up in moments of being a parent, a spouse, a friend. It may show up at work or in some creation we put together. Something we write or cook. It is so wonderful to see it as it appears in us...and to recognize it in those around us.

What I love about this clip is this ordinary guy is in a completely commercial venue and he is expressing his long held dream...and it all comes together as an uplifting moment of completely passionate experssion...and everyone there knows it. This is the best life has to offer.

All I can say is WOW everyone should watch this clip! Nesun Dorma makes me cry regardless of who sings it... he made the hair stand up on the back of my neck too. A truely inspiring story.

Me too. Nessun Dorma is one of my favorites - but the heart of this guy. Wow. And I did cry, so there. I hope this contest does well for him, he deserves it!

He won!

I read he won the contest and he will perform for Queen Elizabeth and he is getting a music contract. It's nice to see a Cinderella story in real life.

Bottom line for me is his singing though....he is transformed and you can see that. Completely touches my heart. What a voice. What a wonderful story.
