Good book reccommendation

Hi all,

I saw this book mentioned in another thread and thought I'd recommend it for those of you trying to eat and educate yourself about more natural, less processed foods. It's called Omnivore's Dilemma by Michael Pollan. I haven't finished yet, but it’s been really interesting so far. It's not a "don't eat meat" book, but he traces 4 different meals from your dinner plate back to the ground and you get to see all the steps in between. He goes into what "organic," "all natural," and other such labels really mean or imply. A lot of the things I thought I was eating in good health or humane conscience are really not all that different from anything else on the shelf. It really makes you think about what you're eating. Anyway, it’s a really interesting read so far and if anyone else has read it too let me know what you think. Thanks!

One of the best books I've read in a long time...absolutely!!! It really opens your eyes. I love his writing. He writes a lot for the NYT I've added a link below to his website. He is very thoughtful AND funny and inspiring. Two favorite articles are "Unhappy Meals" and "You Are What You Eat."

If you liked that book...the theme and the message...read "Animal, Vegetable, Miracle," Barbara Kingsolver's most recent book. It's wonderful and informative.
