given the type of limitations you describe, i suggest you consult with a professional, face-to-face. you don't want to risk hurting yourself because you followed advice from a website. good luck!

You can go a long way just by walking. Walk places you'd normally drive (if that's an option). Take public transportation - the steps to get up to/down to the subway will add up, plus you add at least a couple blocks even if you're just getting to the right bus route (again, if this is possible for you.) If you live in a more rural area, do the little things - park far from where you're going (if that's safe), and go for walks in the morning, at lunchtime, in the evening, whenever you can. Wear a pedometer and try to get to the recommended 10,000 steps a day, even if it means walking in circles around your kitchen.

Agree with 10:58. You might want to consult with your orthopedist to get a referral to a physical therapist who can guide you through. If you have any disc, nerve or bone damage you want careful specific guidance. But by all means, work to get active and healthy. A broken neck does not mean the end to good health. Yay you for taking this good step.

Broke your neck TWICE?? You either have an incredible amount of luck or you're a cat.
