I'm wondering if there are any people out there who are battling UC or another IBD? If so would you be interested in starting a group?

My hubby used to get problems with certain foods-- after some experimentation, he found out that he is sensitive to Onions--(eat too much and he's running for the bathroom!) He always carries Immodium D (chewables) in his pocket just in case.....
Unfortunately, onions come in all sorts of things (especially soups) because it's a cheap and quick seasoning... I know of several people who suffer from the same problem as well...
Also, someone mentioned that MSG is naturally occurring in onions-- and so, if you are having problems with lots of foods, you may see if cutting out onions and MSG could help... :-)

11:05- MSG is not in onions. Monosodium glutamate was created by a japanese researcher in the early 1900's (can't think of his name!!) and one of it's components-glutamate is naturally occuring. MSG is not in onions, but glutamate is (as it is in many other veggies, meats, dairy products etc). glutamate is an amino acid naturally found in many foods and is a natural flavor enhancer but it absolutely is not the same thing as MSG. Just wanted to clarify! MSG is added to foods whereas glutamate occurs naturally.

Okay i created a group and I hope there are some others out there to join. I have been having issues ever since being diagnosed over a year ago and would love to talk to others who are also challenged due to this disease.
