pears are hard to eat

I'm sitting at my desk at work and the pear "juice" is squirting everywhere, on my clothes, my keyboard. It's kind of gross. Suggestions?

Heh...I only eat them at home with a dishtowel for a bib.

cut them into slices and scoop out the middles (seeds). It's a great way to snack while working.

i second the motion to eat in slices. i usually use a fork, too, to avoid the juice dripping/running down my hand.

Op here - I don't know - I think plums and pears are out at work now. Bananas and apples are easier. The slices thing is a great idea.

I really like the types that stay firm or I eat them when not quite ripe. No mess!

I never had a pear I couldn't eat. Maybe I am just a slob and don't notice!
