OT - Ebay... Anyone have advice?
Off Topic---
Just wondering if anyone here has ever tried to sell things online? Was it easy? I'm running into a big cashflow problem and am thinking that with all of the junk I have lying around the house, I could probably make a small fortune selling it on ebay....
Just wondering if anyone else has tried it and did you find it successful? Thanks!

Selling advise
Make sure you auction ends between 9-12pm East Coast time that way it's 5-9pm on the West coast on it's a somewhat convenient auction end time for anyone looking to buy what your selling.
Have you auction end Monday-Thursday. During the winter Sundays are okay time to end auctions too but with it summer no one is home to bid on weekends including Sundays anymore.
Do a search on completed items like what your selling to you can get a reasonable idea what it will probably sell for.
Based on what it is you either want to make the starting price very low and let the bids drive the price up (that will make a high number of bids which grabs peoples attention) or you want to start your auction at the minimum you would accept to sell it and let it go. Don't ever put a reserve on your auction people don't like bidding if they don't know if they are actually going to win the item.
Always include pictures... of the actual item to. Clean up the item for the picture and make sure it's a good picture.

Above is great advice. Also:
- make it clear where you will ship (overseas?) to and how much you will charge.
- be prepared to handle a lot of obvious questions.
- be prepared to insure items or be able to track them through the post office.
- make it clear what forms of payment you will accept (money order, credit card, pay pal)
- you don't need to spend the extra change on subheads, extra pictures, etc for your listing
- in the title of the listing, list several keywords and some specifics that people may be searching for
You should expect most things to sell - in my experience, people will buy almost anything!

Hi,
Another great place to sell stuff for free is www.craigslist.com
Go there and click on your state..Then scroll down to For Sale, and you can see what people are selling. I have sold ( and bought) LOTS of things on there. My husband even sold his car on there. I think it's great!!

I've bought and sold on eBay for years.
I spent this afternoon listing a bunch of my fat clothes on eBay. Hopefully I'll make enough on those to buy me something in a smaller size!
