Does anyone use DVD's for exxercise?

I hate my gym right now, too crowded with the "resolution people", so I've resorted to my DVD fitness collection. Is anyone else out there working out to DVD's with results? Where I live, it's too cold to walk outside, so I can't substitute walking for the gym.

I prefer to join gym as compared to DVD's or online training. I have my personal trainer who guides in right way. I found many useful equipments in gym which I can't buy at home.

So true! Like clockwork - January at the gym is crazy packed with the Resolution crowd. By mid February it's business as usual!

There are several DVDs I like that give me a great workout and they're all by Jillian Michaels. Love them all! And if you have cable workouts on Demand you can find hers and lots of other good ones if those don't suit you.

And how cold is it? I've exercised outside throughout New England winters and barring snow and ice on the ground it's doable!

I've heard some people say that P90X is pretty good. A little too intense for me. I've tried Jillian Anderson's 30-Day Shred, which was OK. I liked that it didn't take up too much time, but it does give you a pretty good workout and has different levels.

You can also go to your local public library and check out some workout DVDs.

Also, free stuff on YouTube. See also BodyRock.tv, and also lots of mobile phone apps, and lots of inspiration for home routine workouts on Pinterest.

I have had a lot of success using fitness DVD's over the years. My problem is that i get bored very easily. Watching the same routine and listening to the same narrative over and over gets tiresome. In fact I have to turn the sound down.

I decided to go with personal training a few months ago and it has defintiely improved my motivation. I can only afford one session a month so my trainer writes me a program and then gives me a brand new one every month as well as offering free online personal training plans. Its working great so far.
