What was the last straw?

Im going to try and start a conversation here.

What was the last straw that made you finally commit to losing weight? Mine was at a pool party. I was out with all my friends and we were all having a great time until people started to shed clothing to reveal their perfect bikini bodies. I on the other hand didn't feel that great.

I thought about that night over and over again and then I also thought about how I looked when I was in the Marines (yep I said it). Then it snapped. I told myself and promised myself that I will get my body back no matter what. I wont quit this time. Food is fuel....nothing more. And 30 minutes of running really isn't THAT long.

Im hoping by my ten year reunion I will have my body back!!! But now I have the motivation and the determination to do it!

The straw: At the end of the day when I was driving home from work I would have to loosen to top button of my pants because it hurt after being tight all day.

Also my Dr. (who I see yearly) noticed my pattern and said, "if you gain a pound or two a year, in twenty years you could be twenty pounds over weight" If I hadn't changed the path I was on it would have been less than twenty years."

But the pants were the straw

When I saw a picture of myself and realized how different I used to look. I just couldn't believe how puffy I was and I had to do something.

mine was also picture-induced. i knew i had gained weight, but when i saw pictures from my brother's wedding and realized that chunky girl was ME, and that it wasn't just one unflattering picture, but all of them, i knew i wanted to be back to my thin healthy self. 25 pounds later i've done it! good luck, all!
