legs/cross training/strength training poll/ question ;)

So, I'm swimming a mile or so at the pool 4-6 times a week, and I'm doing a good workout on my treadmill 4-5 times a week. Obviously, both decent leg workouts. But I'm not strength training my legs like the rest of me.

Do any of you out there doing cardio cross training strength train your legs hard? I mean, I feel like I should be doing muscle work on the legs, but then I ask myself why? My legs aren't too bad- I've always had strong, decently defined legs. And I'm getting in better shape for a wedding in may, were my entire lower body is covered by some fluffy pink bridesmaid dress. The wedding in august is a different story, but by then, I will have had a summer of rollerblading that is all the "strength training" I need for my lower body.

Do I stress myself over trying to fit in a leg workout? (Busy enough with swimming, treadmill, pilates, some upper body workouts) and I'm an overachiever, so setting goals I don't meet drives me batty, or do I just continue to focus on the rest and relax knowing my legs will get what they need as soon as this miserable now is gone?

My personal trainer doesn't focus on my legs much because she says that women are overdeveloped there compared to the rest of their bodies. I guess it's all that lifting properly (with legs, not back). I think you're on the right track.

Personally, I like to run (not worrying about definition or weight-loss goals, just enjoyment of my exercise) and I recently found that more leg muscle from cross-training adds spring to my step, and I enjoy it much more.
