I have been doing PT for a few months getting in shape for my wedding. Now it's almost here and I'm putting together the playlist for the reception. Can anyone recommend good dance songs that will appeal to younger and older guests? Here is some of what we have so far:

Groove is in the Heart - Dee-Lite
Billie Jean - MJ
Gettin Jiggy w/It - Will Smith

One Thing Leads to Another - the Fixx
My Prerogative - Bobby Brown
Get Up - James Brown

Thanks!

Gotta have either the chicken dance or the hokey pokey!!! They are great songs for getting all generations up and having fun acting silly!!!

Just so long as there's no "YMCA" or "I like big butts." Holy Moly, I am soooo sick of those at every wedding or other party I go to.

the last wedding I went to, the bride and groom danced to Leather & Lace. It was great. How about "Play That Funky Music White Boy" and "I Swear" by John Michael Montgomery.

If you want all generations to get up there, play a little swing music or 50's music. The older people will dance and the drunk young people will attempt to!

Helpful websites

Put together by one of the best DJ companies in the DC area, so probably pretty helpful. (Click on "Sample Music List" to the left.)
