How can I stop my late night cravings?

Every night I have a hard time with not eating! I am used to eating so late and can't break the habit!

Do you eat enough during the day? Do you eat breakfast?

If you are changing your eating habits drastically, your body probably is still on your "old habits" cycle.

Try eating Breakfast (it REALLY does help!), even it is a banana, cup of oatmeal or whatever...

Also, you may have to take a little time to wean yourself off of your old habits. Try cutting back slowly and then eventually, stop eating anything after 7:30 p.m. or so... :-)

How late do you go to bed?

try brushing your teeth after you want to be finished eating. I hate ruining that fresh, minty taste.

Keep snack foods out of your house - if you're eating broccoli, no prob, but if you're eating chips, cookies, and crackers, throw them out and don't buy more!

Distract yourself - if you're eating mindlessly in front of the tv, try taking up a craft or something to keep your hands and head occupied.

Move dinner later, bedtime earlier, or go to the gym then. Or just go for a walk after dinner.

If you really enjoy having a snack at night I wouldn't try to fight it, when I do that, I end up binging. Like you, I enjoy eating at night so I just plan for it during the day. I allow myself 200 calories of whatever I'm craving after dinner so I don't end up eating 800.
