high blood sugar

I just got blood test results back and I have high blood sugar. But yy weight is normal and I exercise very regularly, I drink a lot of green tea, eat whole grains, etc.

What are other things i can do/eat to lower my blood sugar?

reduce the amount of sugar you eat would be the top of the list. This includes hidden sugars in many processed foods (corn syrup, fructose, cane sugar, sugar, etc.) Additionally, try and eat small amounts of protein through out the day. Don't eat anything sugary by itself -- always pair it with a small amount of protein. (example. an apple with a piece of turkey). That will reduce the blood sugar spikes. The last suggestion I would have would be to discuss the situation with your dr. and see what he/she suggests.

type 2 diabetic

I was just diagnosed with diabetes lasy July, and I have learned to stick to a diet with 0 to 6 grams of sugar in it and do not eat fruit by itself. It does make your sugar spike. Second of all follow your portion sizes. It does make a big difference. My blood sugar is now normal after following these things, as well as using a smaller plate than a dinner plate. You would not believe the difference. I hope this helps you. You do need to talk to your doctor and have regular check ups though.
