It's 3:00 and I don't want to go home and make dinner or watch the children, or tend to my husband.

I must be going through burnout or something because I don't want to go home from work today! Does anyone feel the same way? Should I ditch my family for the evening and try to meet a friend?

who doesn't get burned out from the daily grind of cooking for the family, making sure homework is done, cleaning the house, doing the laundry, etc. It's not fun. If you can't go out with a friend, go home and explain you're not doing anything for the night but relaxing.

Absolutely! Go out, de-stress and by tomorrow you'll be back in your groove. Girlfriends are the best therapists!

Sometimes I surprise my brother and his wife by picking their kid up at daycare, taking him to the store with me to pick out what we're going to make for dinner. Then we go home and make dinner for mom 'n dad while they get to just sit there and relax with a glass of wine. Then we get to eat together and by then they are usually just visibly more relaxed, laughing and we're all joking around. We all get a kick out it and they just get to be together without the burden of the daily grind.

I have no kids and that is a GREAT idea to do that for friends of mine with kids. Thanks for the tip!
