an interesting find

I don't know how many of you are intersted in gadgets and software, but I love the stuff.
I have one of those cellphone/pda things... it's a cell phone and sort of a pocket computer. I love it.
anyway... I just found a really cool little program for it, diet exercise assistant. It's pretty hand. You can log all your meals, water intake, and exercise. you can also track body measurements, and blood pressure.
it calculates calories, and you can set it for the type of diet you're on.. i.e. low carb, low fat, protein, or simply by calorie.
the database of food is pretty darn good too.
the exercise database is pretty good as well. you select your exercise, and how many minutes, and it calculates the number of calories burned. pretty cool.
now, I take these calculations with a grain of salt.... I don't know exactly how acurately anyone can tell you how many calories are burned while vacuuming, but it gives you a general sense of what you do in a day.

I think it is Verizon Wireless that has a program out for your cell phone now. You get automatic downloads of exercise programs and music straight to your cell phone. I think you also get one on one support from exercise coaches. One of my friends says the system is really helping her.
