If you’re one of the millions of folks who headed off the health club and kicked the new year off with a bang – good for you… now get ready to be let down.
As a newbie… or newbie again at a health club, there are a lot of things you need to get used to and that can take a couple of weeks and your excitement carries you through it. But there’s something I thought you might like to know.
If you’ve been consistent in your workouts you’ve probably noticed nice progress.
The truth is, you’ll get your fastest results when you first start out – especially if you haven’t worked out at all. But after a month or two, the progress slows because you’ve built a fitness base you can build on.
The challenge is – when progress slows, folks give up. In fact, 30% of all sign ups – become dropouts within 30 days. Not you, because now you know, this is just the beginning. After all, what’s the hurry – now that you’re exercising you’re going to be around a long time.

It's unfortunately true. What recently just worked for me was changing the exercise activity. Instead of using the eliptical, I started doing aerobics. I went from losing 1 lbs in 3 weeks to losing 2lbs in 1 week by making that change. No change to my diet duriing those 4 weeks.

It also helps to up the intensity or do interval training to get out of a rut too.
